Pir Sohawa is a beautiful site near Islamabad located at an altitude of 5000 feet. Many people think of it as a part of Islamabad but it is located in Haripur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is about 17 kilometers from Islamabad on the top of Margalla hills. Margalla hills is a beautiful hill range and is a welcoming place which nests Pir Sohawa. A very winding road on which Daman-e-Koh is located links Islamabad to Pir Sohawa. It is a very good place for scenery watching however one needs to know that the path to Pir Sohawa is much more beautiful than the place itself.
This is an ideal place for picnic and enjoying nature in its purest form. The beautiful songs of birds are all around. This is an end point after hiking from the foot of Margalla hills. One rises almost vertically upward for 3000 feet from the Saidpur village of Islamabad.
This place attracts visitors both during summer and winter. In winter it is an ideal place for enjoying sufficient snowfall at an altitude of 5000 feet. A beautiful view of Faisal Mosque and Islamabad city can also be seen from here.
Pir Sohawa is reached by taking the zigzag road from the base of Margalla Hills.

Monal Restaurant is also located at Pir Sohawa. It is named after a pheasant of rare and exquisite beauty. It offers delicious variety of foods and from its spacious terraces one can have a spectacular view of Islamabad city.

Federal Government General Hospital is situated at 19 km distance with the drive of approximately 36 minutes.
